COASTERS ROCK N ROLL CLUB - YORKE PENINSULA SA
We are a community focused group and aim to keep Rock n Roll alive on Yorke Peninsula. Our club started in 2006, and our membership continues to grow. We hold regular learn to dance nights on Mondays. These gatherings are informal by nature and offer a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere where you can, keep fit and make new friends. Our more experienced members provide their time freely to demonstrate and encourage people to dance to the music of the 50s and 60s.
There are many styles and variations of Rock n Roll dance, the faster beats suit Rockabilly, Lindy Hop and Pub Rock styles. The medium to slower beats are easier to learn and commonly uses 6 beat patterns, similar to Jive and East Coast Swing. We also demonstrate and practice the increasingly popular partner dances.
As you learn, through contact with like minded people, we feel your technique, style, flare, dance etiquette and safety awareness will also improve.
